Camping with a Toddler

A few weeks back we went camping with OP. It was a lot of fun, but we also went with another family with kids which was the smartest thing in the world–4 adults and 2 kids against a toddler? Almost even odds.

She was extremely excited to go camping and to see her god-brother and D. The first night was jam-packed with fun–games, baking muffins, and trying s’mores for the first time. She wasn’t too keen on the s’mores. Of course, they were chocolate graham crackers which are just plain wrong.

The first night was extremely tough, because tents and cots are FUN! Around midnight someone FINALLY fell asleep. At least, I think it was midnight. I didn’t have a watch. Some time later, she woke up and snuggled in with Mommy and Daddy. Needless to day, our trip to the Renn Fair was starting on a tired and cranky foot.

Did I mention 4 adults and 2 kids to even the odds a bit?

But she was such a good girl all day. She even willingly and happily rode a horse with Daddy.

And rode a merry-go-round with Mommy.

Blurry, but a rare mommy-daughter picture.

And all she had was a 20-minute nap all day.
